Sun in Aquarius conjunct Pluto in Aquarius
Throughout this last week of January, the Aquarius Sun has been forming a steady, intense conjunction with Pluto in Aquarius. Sun-Pluto conjunctions always carry major significance within our recorded history, as they spark powerful moments of transformation, upheaval, and revelations within collective systems, communities, societal progress, and history.
The Sun represents identity, vitality, purpose, and consciousness, while Pluto governs transformation, power, destruction, and regeneration. In Aquarius, this transformational moment centers around freedom, individuality, innovation, community, technology, and the future itself.
Back in November of 2024, I mentioned how Pluto’s movements always tell a story. When Pluto first enters a new zodiac constellation, she surfaces everything she plans to change and transform, as if she’s showing us the problems that she plans on helping us solve during her transit.
Pluto in Aquarius is trying to create a world that gives power to the people.
Since November of 2024, we’ve witnessed how our current systems, international corporations, and other institutions are gross, outdated, and wickedly corrupt. Now is a time for drastic reform, as Aquarius signals a moment for advancement toward a more progressive, altruistic society.
This conjunction feels confronting and empowering, as power dynamics become clearly visible, truths rise to the surface, and we’re called to reclaim our autonomy in areas where we have felt controlled, silenced, or stagnant.
Collectively, this marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing redefinition of social structures and shared ideals. On a personal level, this conjunction inspires us to rethink our relationship with community, technology, and humanity. I can’t help but wonder if the rising trend in ‘analog lifestyles’ or the craving for human connection, lower screen times, and community are all due to this conjunction.
This is a time of death, rebirth, and renewal, where profound shifts in our perspectives are meant to spark the start of a new way forward.
The first half of Aquarius Season has felt intense, as the experiences we share feel compelling, harsh, and heightened under this energetic shift.
As depressing as this sounds...we have 18 more years of this transit ahead of us....meaning we are nowhere near our collective goals for a world built on themes of equality, altruism, humanitarianism, philanthropy, betterment for all, etc. Right now, we’re in the starting phase where Pluto is surfacing all of the collective problems so that we can unite as a community and focus on solving them throughout the next 18 years.
Areas where systems must be dismantled and reborn to serve the collective more authentically are being highlighted right now. Old identities, outdated beliefs, or limiting roles tied to societal expectations should feel tested under this intense, revealing light.
Ultimately, this Sun–Pluto conjunction in Aquarius is inviting a profound reset for society. This is a moment to consciously choose growth over fear, authenticity over conformity, and transformation over compliance. What emerges from this alignment has the potential to shape a new vision for the future that will appear rooted in empowerment, awareness, and revolutionary change.
Using real-time examples, last year, when this occurred at the end of January 2025, we were also experiencing major shifts in our political and technological realms, such as discussions about TikTok’s ban in the United States, and the beginning of Trump's second term in office.
At the time, TikTok was being controlled by the U.S., under coerced orders to entertain a deal or a ban. This resulted in a rise in concerns regarding the unhealthy exercise of control, power, influence, security, information, etc., bringing us awareness.
Similarly, the world also witnessed the devastating and painful experience of watching Trump once again enter the White House. Now, once again, in real time, we’re seeing this through intensified political unrest and major polarization, particularly under the disgusting Trump Administration.
Pluto in Aquarius exposes where power has become concentrated or misused, while the Sun brings visibility, forcing these dynamics into public awareness. The tension many are feeling isn’t random. It mirrors a larger reckoning around who holds power and influence, how it’s exercised, and how the collective responds.
On the technological front, conversations and developments surrounding TikTok being sold and restructured echo these same themes. Aquarius rules technology and digital networks, while Pluto governs ownership, control, and transformation. As platforms that shape public discourse come under scrutiny, we’re witnessing a deeper examination of data power, censorship, influence, and who ultimately controls digital influence. Together, this Sun-Pluto conjunction marks a major turning point, where outdated systems can no longer operate quietly in the background.
